Sahat is Deputy Director of Technical Operations at Daemeter Consulting. He has under his belt more than seven years experiences working in major pulp and paper companies in Sumatra and Kalimantan, specialising in forest management, inventory, and growth and yield modelling.

Sahat graduated with a Master of Science degree on Forestry at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, with a thesis focused on growth and yield model of eucalyptus plantation in Riau in Indonesia. The degree followed his undergraduate studies at the School of Forestry at North Sumatra University, which he completed in 2006.
Well-trained in various computer programs used in forest inventory and planning, such as Woodstock and STELLA, and with ample experiences on the ground, Sahat understands the issues related to forestry planning as well as the challenges and capacity building required to implement the outputs.
