Triputra Agro Persada Group has been targeting RSPO and ISPO standards for its palm oil production across Jambi, Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan provinces
PT Triputra Agro Persada Group is an ambitious and forwarding-thinking Indonesian palm oil company, operating 23 plantations (over 160,000 Ha) and 18 palm oil mills, across Jambi, Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan provinces. Since 2020, Daemeter has been engaged to support Triputra Group to develop a comprehensive corporate sustainability strategy and support implementation of a roadmap towards responsible palm oil production.
Activities started with a benchmarking assessment of current practices against the sustainability standards of RSPO (Roundtable for Sustainable Palm OIl) and ISPO (the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil). This was followed by a phase of internal policy and multi-year action plan development. The resulting roadmap sets out time-bound commitments and allocation of internal resources to ensure progress towards Triputra's sustainability goals.
Current and ongoing priorities include (1) alignment to RSPO and ISPO standards across all operations, (2) implementation of NDP policies at field level, (3) corporate GHG accounting and carbon emissions reduction plans, (4) smallholder and local community support, (5) human rights impact assessments, as well as (6) alignment to international standards such as the Sustainability Palm Oil Transparency Toolkit (SPOTT) and Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
