Daemeter is assisting the Climate Policy Initiative to support the University of Palangkaraya and other local Government partners to develop a policy research function in Central Kalimantan.

Daemeter is assisting the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), a leading think-tank and policy research organisation based in San Francisco and Venice, to develop an in-depth assessment of the barriers and opportunities for programme design relating to high yield, low carbon emissions, low impact oil palm development in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Research leads towards practical recommendations that are focused on intensification of agricultrural yields while maintaining natural capital.

The assessment includes recommendations relating to strategic engagement in preparation for a three-year programme of activities in the province. CPI intends to support a "Production-Protection" model for agriculture that can maximise sustainable development outcomes while protecting high value ecosystems at the district level.
