Daemeter is assisting five natural resource concessions in Indonesia to develop the conservation management and monitoring plans aimed at maintaining High Conservation Values (HCVs) within their concessions or those that might otherwise be affected by their operations within the broader landscape.

The USAID IFACS project aims to reduce deforestation rates and greenhouse gases emissions in eight landscapes on three islands in Indonesia. A key aspect of the project’s activities related to improved management and conservation of forest resources is to encourage and facilitate stakeholders across the target landscapes to use conservation Best Management Practices (BMPs) in their planning and implementation.

Daemeter is tasked with assisting five concessions in Papua and West Kalimantan to develop the plans with the aim of maintaining High Conservation Values (HCVs) within their concessions or those that might otherwise be affected by their operations within the broader landscape. The Conservation Management and Monitoring Plan’s developed will be a living document owned by the companies that can be modified and revised as new data becomes available or as a result of feedback from the HCV monitoring.
